Kid Stuff
Diapers

Shopping Bag Fiona M. shares her findings from a marathon day of babysitting during which she tested four brands of diapers for fit, comfort, leakage and absorbency...
My test was simple. Three kids (all under 2 years old), 12 hours of babysitting. 4 brands of diapers. Babies are expensive, and I'm all about saving money. Is it worth it to be cheap in certain areas though?
Although no one knows your baby as well as you do, it is absolutely beneficial to seek advice from other mom's on diapers. I spoke to many mom's and I got the same advice from all of them. Not believing the choice could be so unanimous, I decided to test it myself.
I tested fit and comfort, leakage, absorbency and of course, price. Each child wore all four diapers in the span of 12 hours to see how they held up. I even woke the kids up from their sleep to change them so I could see how the diapers held up while the kids tossed and turned in bed.

TEST RESULTS
It was almost a tie for Huggies and Pampers. They fit the best, no leaks, and they held the most liquid and other material...haha. Of course they were the priciest. I would pay the money though to avoid the mess I had to clean from the other two diapers.
The only reason I'd put Pampers in second place was that one of the kids seemed to keep pulling at the diaper as if it were uncomfortable.
As for Parents Choice and Teddy's, after 3 cleanups, and a lot of laundry I decided it is NOT worth the savings. They both made a mess in the kids crib when they leaked, and they drooped horribly after the kids went to the bathroom.
The Teddy's came last because the diaper drooped so much it almost fell off. That would have been a huge mess.
MY TOP PICK
Huggies. All the moms were right: you get what you pay for. I'm not a mom, so I'm not an expert. I do know that laundry and poop are two of my least favourite things so I will avoid them at any cost-even if that means putting out a little more cash.
