Women's Running Shorts

Shopping Bag Emily M. shares her findings after testing a few different types of running shorts for comfort and fit...
I was looking for a good pair of running shorts that wouldn't ride up and were comfortable. I searched around on different websites to see what the athletic companies offered and came across the Lululemon website.
When you're shopping for shorts, try on a few different styles and move around in them to make sure they move with your body. Look for shorts with the built-in underwear as this makes them more comfortable when running and prevents unwanted riding up of underwear. Also look for shorts that have a moisture wicking material to help keep you cool and dry.
TEST PRODUCTS
Adidas - adizero Split Short W: These shorts were more reasonably priced and fit well, but they felt too short and were too open at the leg. I tried these shorts on and moved around in them a bit. They did not seem to ride up at all with the built in underwear, but were just not as fitted in the leg as I was looking for.
Lululemon Groovy Run Short: I tried on these shorts and moved around in them. The length is great (especially for someone who does not like short shorts). They were more fitted to the leg but still left room to move. They moved well with my body and did not ride up. They have a built in underwear and a zippered pocket on the back.
Lululemon Run Speed Short: I tried these shorts on and moved around in them. They were comfortable and did not ride up. They have the built in underwear and the zippered pocket on the back. They are shorter than the Groovy Run Short by Lululemon.
Lululemon Run Leader of the Track Short: I tried these shorts on and moved around in them. They seemed comfortable, but were more open in the leg.
MY TOP PICK
Lululemon Groovy Run Short: I LOVE these shorts. I was a bit skeptical of the high prices at Lululemon, but I was sold the second I put on these shorts. They are super comfortable. The material is light and easy to move in and the built-in underwear prevents the shorts from riding up while exercising. I really liked that they were mid-length and not super short. The extra pocket in the back is also great for going to the gym and putting your money or key in. These shorts are great for running and exercising in.
